CLEP Exams

Students may receive select Baylor course credits by earning a sufficient score on a CLEP exam and submitting that score to Baylor. 

Exam Registration and Score Submission

• Students can purchase CLEP exam registrations and study materials at https://clep.collegeboard.org/.
• Students must send their CLEP scores to Baylor by using institution code 6032. This code can be entered when registering for the exam or after the exam has already been purchased.
• Once a student has taken the exam and submitted their score to Baylor, they should allow up to two weeks for processing. (This may vary based on holidays and time of year.) If students do not see their credit reflected on their Baylor records after that time, they should contact registrar@baylor.edu. 

Exam Locations

• Students may register for at-home proctoring or for an in-person exam at an authorized test center.
• There is an additional fee for at-home proctoring. Please see more information on the CLEP website: https://clep.collegeboard.org/.

Accessibility

• Students who need accommodations should contact College Board's Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD).
• If students experience difficulty with the online exam requirements or need technology help, they should contact baylor-success-center@baylor.edu.

Supplemental Information

• Baylor does not require the optional essay section on any of the CLEP exams.
• Should students need to retest, CLEP policy requires a waiting period of three months from the last test date. Students are responsible for arranging their testing times appropriately for their own registration and scheduling considerations.

Baylor Course Credits

• The table below lists the exams and required scores that have been approved to receive credit at Baylor.
• If a test is not listed, then Baylor does not accept that exam for credit. Baylor does not issue elective credit for credit by exam.

*Note: only students who entered Baylor prior to Fall 2019 and have ENG 2304 on their degree plan should take the American Literature exam. Students who entered in Fall 2019 or later and are on the Unified Core Curriculum should not take this exam.
